About Kintire
Born in Holywood, Northern Ireland.
Kintire started with a problem we couldn’t solve.
We wanted to buy a golf gift. Something that connected my husband’s Scottish clan heritage to the game he loves. Something that said something real about who he is and where he comes from.
We couldn’t find it anywhere.
Every golf brand looked identical. Navy polos. White polos. Clean logos. Nothing that connected the oldest game in the world to the ancient cultures that shaped it. Nothing that let a golfer say — this is my clan. This is my county. This is who I am on the course.
So we built it ourselves.
WHO WE ARE
We are a husband and wife from Holywood, County Down — a small town on the shores of Belfast Lough in Northern Ireland.
He is Scottish. She is from Belfast. Between us we carry the exact heritage that Kintire was built around — the clans, the counties, the long connection between Celtic identity and the game of golf.
We are not a corporate brand. We are two people who love golf, love where we come from, and couldn’t understand why nobody had made this connection before.
Golf was born on the links of Scotland and Ireland. The same ground where the clans fought, the counties were shaped, and the character of the people was forged by wind, weather, and Atlantic coastline.
That connection deserved a brand.
THE IDEA
Every golfer has a tribe.
Not just a favourite course or a handicap. A genuine identity. A way of playing the game that is rooted in personality, instinct, and character.
The golfer who attacks every pin. The one who maps the course before the first tee. The one who stays ice cold when everything is on the line. The one who trusts pure instinct over instruction.
These aren’t random types. They are ancient archetypes — rooted in the clans and counties that shaped Celtic identity for centuries.
We mapped 14 of them.
7 Scottish clans. 7 Irish counties. Each one with its own golf identity, personality, history, and rival tribe.
